Mayor Mike Browne was born and raised in Grand Falls-Windsor and has long been actively involved in the community through extensive volunteering, leadership in local sports organizations, and participation in community initiatives. He has held key roles in hockey, baseball, and golf, including serving as President of Minor Hockey, involvement with the local baseball association for over a decade, and as a long-time executive member of the local golf course for 26 years.
He has built a career in public service, where he has developed strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while working closely with residents and supporting community needs. He has organized numerous sporting events, contributed to various organizations, and helped lead community projects, including improvements such as the installation of lighting at Centennial Field. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to community development and public service.
Mike was first elected to the Grand Falls-Windsor Town Council in 2016 and served as Deputy Mayor prior to being elected Mayor in 2025. In this role, he is focused on strengthening the community, supporting sustainable growth, and ensuring a high quality of life for residents.
He is passionate about growing the community, supporting healthcare, advancing business and economic development, and enhancing recreation and community partnerships. Mike values staying connected to residents, being approachable and responsive, and is committed to treating people with respect and making a meaningful difference in the town he proudly calls home.
