Civic Awards

After two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Civic Awards are finally back!

Awards Criteria:

  • Nominations are open to Grand Falls-Windsor residents (including students attending college here) and should be based upon accomplishments between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2021. Information from current or previous years will be accepted, however given less recognition. The one exception will be the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Civic Award, which will be a lifetime achievement award.
  • The Selection Committee will make its decisions based on the information you provide.
  • Please assist the committee by ensuring that the nomination is accurate, concise and complete.

How to Nominate:

  • Complete our Online Nomination Form: Complete the nomination form for each category at the links below.
  • In Person: You can visit the Town Hall for a hard copy of any Nomination Form. 
  • Troubleshooting: Please call 489-0450 or 489-0451 if you are experiencing any problems when completing your nomination. 
  • 72-Hour Notice: If you are not notified within 72 hours of your submission, please contact us at 489-0450.
  • The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 16th, 2022 at 12:00 PM.

Categories (4)

  • Youth of the Year: Awarded to a youth (ages 13-18) in recognition of their overall outstanding voluntary contributions to the community of Grand Falls-Windsor in the years 2019-2021. Contributions may be related to recreation, the arts, education, humanities, community service, medical, business and commercial fields.  
  • Citizen of the Year: Awarded to a citizen in recognition of their overall outstanding contributions to the community/province/country/world in the years 2019-2021. Contributions may be related to recreation, the arts, education, humanities, community service, medical, business and commercial fields.
  • Volunteer of the Year: Awarded to a citizen in recognition of their overall outstanding voluntary contributions within the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Contributions may be related to recreation, the arts, education, humanities, community service, medical, business and commercial fields. This Award recognizes the accomplishments of nominees in the years 2019-2021.
  • Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Civic Award: Awarded to a citizen and/or group in recognition of their overall outstanding contributions within the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Contributions may be related to: arts, music, organizations, heritage, athletics, and business or a combination of any of the above. This award recognizes the accomplishments of nominees throughout their lifetime.
