Fire Hall Dispatcher (Casual, Call-In)

DUTIES
- To maintain constant 24-hour coverage and operate a variety of communication equipment, including radio, telephone, alarm signaling devices, and computer systems using established protocols and dispatch responsible parties.
- Receive and process emergency calls and determine the type of assistance that is needed by carefully listening to the caller and using good judgement. Once determined the nature and location of the emergencies, the dispatcher shall dispatch fire, police, ambulance, or other emergency units as needed by information gained from the caller.
- All other duties as listed in the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Job Description Manual
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good knowledge of Computer Programs (Microsoft)
- Excellent Oral and Written communication skills
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of Public Fire protection and emergency services
- Certified Level Two (2) NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter will be an asset
SALARY
As per CUPE Local 1349 Collective Agreement ($28.50 per hour)
