Taylor Road and areas across the river are also open for parking. All roads in the downtown area will remain open to traffic, and we ask residents to avoid blocking traffic if parking roadside. The old Abitibi yard is not open to the public and both our Fire Department and security will be onsite to ensure everyone’s safety.
Canada Day Drumming:
Make Some Noise for Canada Day!
Join us at 4:00 PM on July 1 at Shanawdithit Centennial Park as Grand Falls-Windsor takes part in the 10th Anniversary of Canada Day Drumming!
Canada Day Drumming is a nationwide celebration that brings communities together through the universal language of rhythm. People of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds will join in simultaneous drumming events across Canada, celebrating unity, diversity, inclusion, peace, and community spirit.
No experience? No problem! Everyone is welcome to participate. Bring a drum, bucket, pot, spoon, or anything else you can safely bang to make some noise. We’ll also have a limited number of free rattle drums available while supplies last.
We’ll begin gathering at 3:50 PM before joining communities from coast to coast for six minutes of drumming starting at 4:00 PM Newfoundland time.
Let’s come together and show our Canadian spirit through the power of rhythm. We can’t wait to see – and hear – you there!
