WATERMAIN INSPECTION NOTICE – August 18 & 20, 2025

The Exploits Regional Water Supply Committee is advising residents that an inspection of our trunk watermains will take place on Monday, August 18th, and Wednesday, August 20th, 2025, between approximately 8:00 AM-6:30 PM.
Our contractor, Pure Technologies, will be using two advanced tools:
- SmartBall – a free-swimming inspection device that travels through pipelines while in service, detecting leaks, trapped gas/air pockets, and mapping the exact location of the waterline.
- PipeDiver Ultra – a free-swimming, non-destructive inspection tool that uses high-resolution ultrasonic technology to detect areas of wall loss in metallic pipes.
These inspections will provide critical data to help manage and protect our water infrastructure for the long term.
During this work, valves will be operated along the inspection route. Residents may notice temporary water discoloration and/or brief service interruptions. These effects should be short-term.
