Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Council Recognizes Outstanding Efforts of Local Volunteer Emergency Services

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Council wishes to publicly express its heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated volunteers of the Exploits Valley Search and Rescue (EVSAR) and the Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department for their extraordinary service over the past summer and recent months.
This summer, our community faced increased emergency response demands, including forest and brush fires that posed significant risks to residents, property, and the surrounding environment. Both EVSAR and the Fire Department demonstrated exceptional commitment, professionalism, and bravery in responding to these challenges.
The Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department has continued its critical work protecting the community through firefighting, medical assist responses, fire prevention and education programs, and swift response to forest and brush fires. Their actions have helped ensure the safety of residents and minimized damage to property and the natural environment.
The Exploits Valley Search and Rescue team has tirelessly contributed to the safety and well-being of the region by conducting search and rescue operations, assisting lost or missing individuals in all seasons, and providing support during emergency incidents. Their readiness to respond at a moment’s notice exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and dedication that is indispensable to the safety of our community.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated volunteer organizations within our community. Their selfless commitment, countless hours of training, and willingness to respond to emergencies under challenging conditions make a profound difference in the lives of our residents.
Council recognizes the invaluable contributions of these organizations, not only in responding to emergencies but in fostering community resilience and safety awareness, and extends its deepest gratitude for everything they do to keep Grand Falls-Windsor safe.
