Notice of Public Hearing – Amendments to MICSP and Dev Regs

The Town Council of Grand Falls-Windsor has adopted Municipal Integrated Community Sustainability Plan Amendment No. 6, 2024 and Development Regulations Amendment No. 9, 2024 for Queensway-Ridgewood.
In general terms, the purpose of this Municipal Plan Amendment No.6, 2024 is to redesignate an area of land that extends north and east from the existing subdivisions at Queensway and Ridgewood from “Rural” to “Urban Residential”, from “Commercial” to ‘Urban Residential” on the Future Generalized Land Use Map of the Municipal Plan.
In general terms, the purpose of this Development Regulations Amendment No. 9, 2024 is to rezone an area of land that extends north and east from the existing subdivisions at Queensway and Ridgewood from “Single Unit Urban Residential Zone” (RS-3) to “Residential Low and Medium Density Multi-Unit Residential Zone” (RM-1), from “Rural” (RU) to “Residential Low and Medium Density Multi-Unit Residential Zone” (RM-1), from “Commercial General” (CG) to “Residential Low and Medium Density Multi-Unit Residential Zone” (RM-1) on the Land Use Zoning map of the Development Regulations.
A Public Hearing to consider objections and representations on the Municipal Integrated Community Sustainability Plan and Development Regulations will be held on the 27th day of February, 2025 at the Fire Hall in the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor at 7 p.m. Parking is available on the Public Works Depot side on Bayley Street.
Anyone wishing to make an objection or representation shall deposit with the Town Clerk of Grand Falls-Windsor, two copies of a signed written statement outlining the objection or representation not fewer than 2 days before the date set for the public hearing. If no objection is made, Council has the authority to cancel the public hearing.
