GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, NL –The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor advises residents that a Municipal By-Election will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2026, to fill the vacancy on Town Council following the recent passing of Deputy Mayor Rod Bennett.
Residents are encouraged to take note of the following important dates and information regarding the upcoming by-election:
Municipal By-Election
- Date: Tuesday, December 1, 2026
- Polling Hours: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
- Locations: Polling station locations for each neighbourhood will be announced in the coming weeks.
Nomination Day
- Date: Monday, November 9, 2026
- Time: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
- Location: Grand Falls-Windsor Town Hall (5 High Street)
- Individuals interested in seeking election to Town Council may submit their nomination during the designated nomination period. Please note that nominations are by appointment only – please call 709-489-0407 to make a nomination appointment.
Advance Poll
- Date: Saturday, November 21, 2026
- Time: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
- Location: Windsor Pentecostal Church (97 King Street)
- The Advance Poll will provide an opportunity for eligible voters to cast their ballots ahead of the December 1 by-election.
The Town encourages all eligible residents to participate in the municipal democratic process and exercise their right to vote.
Additional information, including neighbourhood polling station locations and further details regarding the nomination and voting processes, will be shared through the Town’s official communications channels in the coming weeks.
