NO CHANGE TO COUNCIL ELECTION OUTCOME FOLLOWING RECOUNT

October 6, 2025 (Grand Falls-Windsor) – The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor advises residents that a recount has been completed following the 2025 Municipal Election held on October 2, 2025.
A recount was requested under the Municipal Elections Act due to a 9-vote difference between the sixth and seventh-place candidates in the Council race. The recount was conducted by the Returning Officer in accordance with provincial legislation.
While the recount resulted in adjustments to individual vote totals for candidates, the overall outcome of the election remains unchanged. The updated number of votes for each candidate are outlined below with the successful candidates highlighted in bold.

As reported before, Mike BROWNE has been acclaimed as Mayor.
The new Town Council will be sworn into office on October 7, 2025, at 6:30 PM in Council Chambers at Town Hall. The role of Deputy Mayor will be decided by Council vote at a future Council meeting.
