About the Club:
Perfectly Centered Gymnastics is looking for a RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS COACH on a temporary (part-time) term-by-term basis. We are a year-round, municipality-owned, recreational and competitive club located in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Our growing club membership is more than 400 children and youth between the ages of 2 and 18. We also provide programming for infants, adults, and seniors!
Position Overview:
We are seeking an individual who will inspire our children and youth, and create engaging sessions that foster a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for every child to develop physical skills and confidence. This is a temporary, part-time position.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Highly effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- A passion for sport and inspiring each athlete to be the best version of themselves they can be
- Previous Gymnastics/Cheerleading experience
- Previous experience in a leadership role with children and youth
- Completion of Gymnastics Foundations and Active Start Courses (or willing to obtain)
- Competitive 1 trained (or willing to obtain)
- Respect in Sport certification (or willing to obtain)
- Making Ethical Decisions certification (or willing to obtain)
Job Duties:
The successful candidate will report to management and conduct job duties that include the following:
- Work with the team to deliver session plans, themes, events etc.
- Plan and deliver recreational class lessons in a safe, fun, respectful manner
- Be a positive role model and maintain high ethical standards
- Establish and maintain a positive environment, to be carried through all your interactions with the children and youth, parents and co-workers
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment that promotes fun, personal development, and growth
- Attend all staff training, orientations, team meetings, show cases and banquets – will require occasional travel
- Establish and maintain communication with co-workers and management
- Able to work flexible hours, typical work week would include afternoon and evening, and some weekends when required
- Adhere to Gymnastics Canada Coaches’ Code of Conduct
- Uphold safety standards
- Other related duties as assigned
