Equipment Operator II (Permanent, Seasonal)

DUTIES
- This is a skilled work in the operation of all types of heavy equipment including all attachments owned by the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. This work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of assigned heavy equipment and the performance of normal maintenance work on the equipment. Employees in this class receive general instructions from a supervisor as to work assignments and are expected to perform duties under limited supervision in accordance with accepted practices and precautions of equipment operation.
- Effectively operates two or more types of heavy equipment including all attachments.
- Performs daily checks of gauges, fuel, oil, and grease machine assigned.
- Report any necessary repairs to Chief Mechanic.
- Completes daily activity reports as required.
- Other duties as outlined in Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Job Description Manual.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from Heavy Equipment Operators’ Training Program with a minimum of three (3) years experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Experience working with municipal systems would be an asset.
- Must possess appropriate driver’s license as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador (3, 5, 8, 9).
SALARY
As per CUPE Local 1349 Collective Agreement (2025- $29.73 per hour)
