The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts have forced a Game 7 in their Central West Senior Hockey League final against the Clarenville Caribous. The Cataracts had trailed the series 3 games to 1 heading into the weekend but a pair of wins by the Cats have the series tied at 3.


Saturday night at the Joe Byrne the Cataracts scored 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd period to pull out a 5-2 victory. Andre Gill led the way with a pair of goals. Andrew Brennan, Kyle McGuirk and Danny Wicks had singles.

Then Sunday night in Clarenville the Cataracts trailed 3-1 in the 3rd period before scoring three straight to win 4-3. Andre Gill scored a pair for the second game in a row. Singles came from Andrew Brennan and Collin Circelli who scored the winning goal with just 54 secs left to play.

Game 7 will be played this coming Friday at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium. Game time 8pm. The winner of Friday’s game will go on to face the Harbour Grace Ceebees for the Herder Memorial Trophy Championship starting this Saturday night in Harbour Grace.


Holding Seat tickets for Friday night’s Game 7 will go on sale tonight (Monday) and Tuesday from 7-9 at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium Box Office. Tickets will be available to the General Public starting noon Thursday from Brides Snack Bar and Grant’s Sports Excellence as well as the Box Office Thursday evening and just before game time.
