Dial-a-Carol to Help Expectant Moms and Babies
On Sunday, December 18, 2016 the Independent Order of Oddfellows Exploits Lodge 2N and Rebekahs will be broadcasting our Annual “Dial-A-Carol” on Rogers TV, Channel 9 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Because of people like you, the annual Dial-a-Carol fundraiser throughout the last 36 years has been able to help the South and Central Health Foundation purchase numerous pieces of equipment for the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre to support patient care.
This year we are hoping you will join the dedicated members of the Oddfellows & Rebekahs to raise the funds to purchase a new Portable Ultrasound Machine for the health of expectant moms and babies.
Physicians use these ultrasounds to date pregnancies, to predict those at risk to have pre-term babies and to identify infertility issues. Most importantly, it is used to identify and monitor those with high risk pregnancies in order to make necessary adjustments to their care plan.
The current Portable Ultrasound Machine is at the end of its useful life. It has been unavailable at times and the image quality has decreased over the years. When the Portable Ultrasound Machine is unavailable it means that an expectant mom may not receive her bedside ultrasound scan at her regular appointment and may need to return at a later date.
We hope that you will support our efforts to raise funds to replace the aging equipment with up-to-date-technology. We hope you will tune into Rogers TV, Channel 9 for the Dial-a-Carol program. With the support of organizations and businesses our “Dial-A-Carol” will be an outstanding success once again this year!
