Giant Flea Market:

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor will host its next Giant Flea Market on Saturday, September 10th at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium.

Tables are free but are limited to ONE table per vendor.

If you wish to book a free table call 489-0483 and leave your name and number. You will be contact on the Monday before the market on set up times.

The deadline to book a table is Friday, September 2 at 4pm.

Flea Market 2

The Public Works Department would like to advise residents that Garbage Collection will be delayed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17th due to mechanical issues with our Garbage Truck. Residents are asked to place their garbage at the curbside at the regular time (8:30)am. Residents are asked to make sure your garbage and recyclables are properly covered at the curb.

Construction Notice at the intersection of Cromer Avenue and Duggan Street

Due to circumstances beyond our control, it is necessary to extend the construction period until Monday noon tomorrow.
Crews are to be on site 6am to complete the final conduit crossing for Cromer Avenue.

We will attempt to expedite this process as much as we can.
The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

For all of our Tourism Partners we wish to advise that the Salmon Interpretation Centre will be closing on August 14 at 8 pm for repairs to the Exploits Bridge and should be open again for business on August 22 to finish out the season.

On Saturday, August 20th, 2016 the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor will join the Canadian Cancer Society- Newfoundland and Labrador Division to screen CBC and the Tragically Hip Presents ‘The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration’ at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium. Doors for this Celebration will open at 8:00pm.

The night will kick off at 8:30pm with locals Joey Maloney and Greg Forward paying tribute to the Tragically Hip. At 10:00pm we will take in the CBC and the Tragically Hip Presents ‘The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration’ on the big screens. After the screening we will be entertained for the remainder of the evening by a local band (TBA).

At the request of CBC and the Band, all tickets for this show will be free. There will be 2000 tickets made available to any member of the general public that is 19+. Two phone numbers will be released this Tuesday, August 2, 2016 on the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor’s Facebook, Twitter Page and to the Media. Any person (19+) wishing to obtain a ticket must phone either of the released numbers. At that time you will be given details on how to obtain your tickets. There will be a maximum of two tickets per person. Please remain patient as there may be an influx of calls.

 

The numbers to call for tickets are: 489-0451 and 489-0442. The lines will be open Monday-Friday 8:30-12:00 and 1:00-4:00pm. Voicemails will not be returned.
