The area now known as Church Road Park was constructed in 1981, after the "Company" offered the land to the Town Council on the condition that it be developed as a Municipal Park and not used for any other purpose.
As a collaborative between the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, the Government of Canada, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Church Road Park celebrated its Grand Opening on August 5th, 1985.
Since that time, the park has been used for numerous outings, events, picnics, and family gatherings.
On July 1st, 2011, the Centennial Committee presented the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor with the Centennial Gazebo that would be stationed at Church Road Park.
Today Church Road Park features a Duck Pond, Water Fountain, the Centennial Gazebo, a play structure, and sizeable grassland suitable for multiple recreational activities.
Church Road Park is inspected and maintained on a regular basis by the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor’s Parks and Recreation Department. If you notice vandalism at this park, please call the Municipal Police at 489-0411. If you notice that maintenance is needed, please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 489-0450.
