Friday, February 17th:

The Lumberjack Special:  12:00-6:00pm: The Memorial United Church Men's Choir will be preparing their Lumberjack Special which consists of baked beans, bologna, toutons and a molasses bun for only $8.00/plate! Take out and eat-in (4:00-6:00pm). Music by UC5 from 4:30-5:30pm.

Social Ski: 2:00-4:00pm: Exploits Valley Cross Country Ski Club (Scott Ave). All ages are welcome. For any individuals who would like to try skiing the Ski Club does have a limited amount of equipment they may borrow on a 'first come, first served basis'. Please check the Exploits Valley Cross Country Ski Club website for details and possible changes to activities.

Wine Tasting and Painting Class: 8:00-11:00pm: Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium (Hospitality Room). Bring your friends or significant other to this three (3) hour wine tasting and art experience. A local artist from CNVAS (Central Newfoundland Visual Art Society) will guide participants as they explore the creative process of putting paint to paper to create a unique masterpiece. A sample selection of wines and cheeses from around the world will be offered during this event. Cost is $50.00/person which includes a ride from the event, wine and cheese, and all painting supplies. Space is limited so call 489-0450 to register. This class is full. 

Moonlight Ski/Snowshoe & Social: 7:00-10:00pm: Exploits Valley Cross Country Ski Club (Scott Ave). Come out and enjoy the trail at night as the 1.5km trail will be lit up.  All ages are welcome and the Ski Club does have a limited amount of skis and snowshoes that may be borrowed on a 'first come, first served basis'. Eileen M. Dormody Memorial Invitational Bowling Tournament: 7:00-9:00pm: Exploits Lanes Bowling Alley. Must register to Bowl. Register by calling 489-6863. Lots of fun and great prizes to be won! Sponsored by the Exploits Disability Association. 

 

Saturday, February 18th:

Winterlude Community/Family Breakfast Windsor Pentecostal Church: 9:00-11:00am: Come out and enjoy a great breakfast while supporting your local Foodbank.  Free breakfast with donation of item for Foodbank. 

Mooseburger Sale: 10:00am-4:00pm: Oddfellows Lodge, Union Street. Eat in or take-out available. $3.00/burger. Phone Shawn at 489-3946 for more information, or to place an order.

Winterlude Family Fun Day: 10:30am-2:30pm: Corduroy Pond. Grab the family and head out to corduroy Pond for a day of skating, sliding and just plain fun in the snow. All ages are welcome. Warm up by the pondside bonfire with a wiener roast and enjoy refreshments and a visit from Gus the Moose. Donations will be accepted for the Community Food Bank. Sponsored by the Corduroy Brook Enhancement Association.

Pea Soup and Dumpling Luncheon: 11:00am-2:00pm: Exploits Valley 50+ Club (Edwards Place). $5.00/pea soup and dumpling. For more information please contact Cecilia at 489-6470.

Sunday, February 19th:

Teddy Bears on Parade: 11:00am-12:00pm: Main Street (Corduroy Brook Building). Meet at the Corduroy Brook Building on Main Street and parade with Gus the Moose (and his friends) down to Papas Sweet Shop for some free hot chocolate and sweets! Once we are all sweetened up we will parade back to the Corduroy Brook Building.

Scavenger Hunt: 2:30-3:30pm: Exploits Valley Cross Country Ski Club (Scott Ave). Parents are required to accompany children, all participants must wear skis or snowshoes on the trails and no pets allowed. Please check the Exploits Valley Cross Country Ski Club website for details and possible changes to activities.

Social Ski: 3:00-5:00pm: Exploits Valley Cross Country Ski Club (Scott Ave). All ages are welcome. Community Sliding Party: 3:00-6:00pm: Church Road Park. Take the whole family sliding under the stars. Warm up afterwards with hot chocolate and Timbits. Sponsored by the Exploits Valley Crime Stoppers.

Evening Snowshoe: 7:00-8:00pm: Exploits Valley Cross Country Ski Club (Scott Ave). Children must be accompanied by an adult. For nighttime activities a headlamp or flashlight may be desirable. Use your own discretion.

Adult Skating: 8:45-9:45pm: Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium. Admission is FREE. Mandatory hockey helmet policy is in effect for all participants.

 

Monday, February 20th:

Winterlude Reading Corner: 3:30-4:30pm: Harmsworth Public Library. Join us at the Library for a story, crafts, winter fun and more! Open to all ages and refreshments will be served. For more information please call the Library at 489-2303.

Tots Winterlude Bounce Day: 5:00-6:00pm: Windsor Pentecostal Church. Tots (Ages 2-5) are welcome to join us for some Bouncy Castle Fun! Admission is free.

Kids Winterlude Bounce Day: 6:30-7:30pm: Windsor Pentecostal Church. Children (Ages 6+) are welcome to join us for some Bouncy Castle Fun! Admission is free.

Couples Cooking Class: 7:00-9:00pm: Grand Falls Golf Club. The Couples Cooking Class is limited to six couples so that everyone has a chance to join in and interact with Chef Peter Butler. It will be a fun, educational experience to remember! Must be 19 to attend. Call 489-0450 to register, $100.00/couple. This class is full.
